The Lord's Prayer

Father, who are we to call you such a name? As the worst of sinners, we come into Your presence, and by grace, invited to stay. Who are we to call to you so freely? You who are so high above. No people are less worthy, yet no people are more loved.

Our Father. The Lord of heaven and Most High King. No gods nor man could question your reign, so we come on our knees. Above all else, may your name be praised and known. Let our prayer join the angel's song, "Holy, holy to Him who sits on the throne." For what could we ask more important than this? That to the God of creation, creation returns, with His glory ever on their lips.

We know we are meant for a world beyond this one in which we were born. For our future has been bought by The King adorned in thorns. With him, he brought your kingdom, and established your will amongst men. So may we follow Him into battle, and fight for "on earth, as in heaven."

And today we ask, but only for what we need. And tomorrow we will ask anew, for who are we to say what tomorrow might bring? For what could we have that has not come from you? We pray over all that we have, and all that we do, may it be returned as an offering to you. And when we have more than enough, let us not hesitate to give to our brother. Father help us receive with one hand, and offer with the other.

Now, we ask that your grace be poured out instead of your wrath. For we believe the King who came absorbed the greatest of debts on our behalf. Father help us remember this, so that we may show grace to those who hurt us, for their sins will be paid for one way or another, and we will not judge the creator of justice.

Lastly Father, our request is great. We beg you to show up for your people, to protect us here today. Your kingdom is on the battlefield, fighting for its rightful place, and we will join its ranks armed with a shield formed by faith. Our sin makes us weak, but with each step we're being remade, lead us Father and keep us close when temptation guards our way.

Destroy the power that has dared challenge your rule. Deliver your children as you've delivered them before from forces unjust and cruel. We ask you to remain who you've always been, a God proving powerful and good; break chains and appear in fire just like you said you would. We will fight to be faithful, as you take back what's yours. Evil has had its day, but your victory will end the final war. But we still ask, to acknowledge our great need, for what we deserve is not what we've received.

For the kingdom that's here, and yet still to come For the power of three, reigning as one For the glory of all [angels] and men, and all creation under the sun.

All is yours, and has always been. Let it be known in heaven and on earth.

Forever and ever. Amen.
